| Hello Christian,
|
| The images you sent me don't really look like a class D switching
| waveform and its really hard to tell what I am looking at. I am
| going to try and get one of the MAX9704 evaluation kits on Monday
| to examine our operating circuit behavior - however this is a
| really old device that we don't really use or recommend anymore
| and the EV-kits are no longer produced. Hopefully I can locate
| one to use for debug.
|
| I did talk to a few of members on our team and they did have a
| few suggestions. First, they recommended keeping the device in
| shutdown when no load is attached if you are operating in a
| filter-less configuration (as an LC filter or zobel can actually
| help insure stability when no load is present). Also, best
| practice is to always place the device back into shutdown if you
| need to swap the load out.
|
| I'd be interested to see the current waveform if you power up
| with the device in shutdown (maybe install a shunt to ground for
| the SHDN pin). Then once the supply is up and stable, remove the
| shunt and let the divider turn the device on. I will update you
| Monday on whether or not I managed to get a kit, and on what I
| observe with it.
|
| Thank you for your patience,
|
