R8 is a feedback-resistor.

At the left there is an astable multivibrator. At the right it's a "SODFA". It's nearly the same. The difference is only the integrator "U2/R6/C2", which replaces R3/C1.
The feedback resistors are R1 and R4.
R4 ist equivalent "R8" you ask for.
